About
Quitting Zyn is the guide library behind SnusFree, an app for tracking and tapering off nicotine pouches. We built the app first, and then wrote these pages because the questions people asked were always the same three: how fast should I come down, how long does this feel bad for, and is it normal that I've relapsed twice already.
The site is independent. Nothing here is sponsored by a pouch manufacturer, a pharmacy or a cessation brand, and there are no affiliate links to nicotine products of any kind.
Where the numbers come from
Withdrawal timelines, craving durations and cessation-rate figures follow published public-health guidance and cessation research — chiefly the CDC and NIDA in the United States and the NHS in the United Kingdom. Nicotine strengths per pouch come from what manufacturers declare on the tin. Where the evidence for pouches specifically is thin — long-term gum and cardiovascular outcomes, in particular — we say so instead of borrowing conclusions from the much larger literature on cigarettes. Pouches are not cigarettes, and pretending the research transfers cleanly would make this site less useful, not more.
The three stages
Every guide is tagged so you can find the ones written for where you are:
- Deciding — still using, working out whether and how to stop.
- Tapering — on a plan, bringing the daily number down.
- Nicotine-free — at zero, and keeping it there.
What this site will not do
- Tell you that quitting is easy, or that one method works for everyone.
- Recommend a nicotine product as a "healthier" alternative.
- Replace a doctor, a dentist or a quit-line counsellor.
If you are pregnant, take medication, or have a heart condition, talk to a clinician before changing your nicotine intake. Free help exists and works better than doing this alone: in the US, 1-800-QUIT-NOW; in the UK, the NHS Better Health quit service.

The plan, running in your pocket
A taper only works if you know what you actually use. SnusFree turns a schedule into a daily number: log each pouch, watch the limit come down, and keep the streak once you hit zero.
- Log a pouch in one tap — strength, time and cost included
- A taper that steps your daily limit down to zero on a date you pick
- Your patterns: the hours you reach for one, and what the tins cost you
- Everything stays on your phone. No account, no sign-up
